"One drop locks up an ocean"
I'm pretty sure many of you would've heard of this tagline for Hada Labo's famous SHA lotion from a long time ago. SHA, Super Hyaluronic Acid, is a humectant which basically means it's really good at trapping water and also why it's so popular in skincare products.

I used to use the full range of Hada Labo products so I'm really familiar with them, especially the SHA lotion. It was already an amazing product (with a very affordable price point) when I used it years ago and I don't know how Hada Labo did it but they managed to make it even better.

Hada Labo's new SHA Lotion contains 4 different types of Hyaluronic Acids with varying molecule sizes (Large Sized, Medium, Super, and Nano) and makes use of HPP&M technology to help provide the deep hydration that we all need for our skin.

Hydration =/= Moisturisation
Hydration means that your skin (in the lower layers of the dermis) is hydrated, whereas moisturisation is keeping the top layer of your skin moist to trap in the hydration (think of it as a layer of oil on water to keep the water from evaporating), which is why some people still suffer from dry skin even though they moisturise daily.

When your skin is dehydrated, it not only looks dull and uneven, but also takes longer to recover and regenerate - which is why deep hydration is really important. Not only that, dehydrated skin also tend to make you look aged, which is why Korean stars always look so young with their moist and dewy skin texture.

Hydration is essential for everyone! So in the same range, they also have SHA Lotion (Light) which is suitable for those of you with oily/combination skin. I thought the SHA lotion was light enough, but this is even lighter, feels literally like water - except for the fact that it glides so smoothly on your skin and absorbs so quickly into your skin to work its magic.

The essence has a slightly thicker texture than the lotions, (think: liquidy gel) but absorbs into the skin and hydrates very quickly. I also noticed that my makeup glides on better after I use this.

I also like that they repackaged their essence into a glass bottle with a dropper!
Hada Labo only uses purified pharma-grade water for their products (the same type that was used for eye drops in the past) to make their products - which means you get water that is free of any allergants and metals, so you receive only the good stuff, nothing unnecessary.

When applying the lotions, remember to lightly pat it into your skin. This helps to stimulate your skin and to aid in better absorption of the product.

Come Pledge to Pat with me for a 30ml sample and stand to win a trip for 2 to Kyoto. One of my lucky readers will also receive a $150 Hada Labo hamper!
